The UCT Graduate School of Business invites applications from dynamic and energetic individuals with a sound understanding of adult learning principles and a strong client focus. You will be responsible for managing, coordinating and delivering efficient, professional and cost-effective contact sessions; also managing and controlling the inter-modular periods of the various programmes on offer and supporting the Course Convenors.

 

Reporting to the Department Manager, the incumbent will be required to:

  • Ensure that efficient operational, cost-effective and service-orientated processes are implemented per  programme
  • Initiate, organize and coordinate all programme meetings and activities; coordinate resources required including venues, accommodation, catering, equipment and entertainment bookings etc.
  • Manage programme budgets to ensure cost-efficiency and appropriate financial performance within set parameters
  • Build and manage productive relationships with programme team members, associated GSB service providers, internal and external client/s, as well as the individual students
  • Support delegates during contact sessions and inter-modular periods and communicate with clients where relevant, regarding student progress
  • Work effectively and professionally in a fast-paced team environment

This post requires the successful candidate to work certain weekends (programme contact periods) and after hours where necessary, as well as occasional travel to support programmes where applicable.

 

Requirements of the job:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification at NQF level 7
  • Four years working experience with at least three years relevant programme/hospitality/project coordination-related experience
  • Excellent organisational skills, planning and multi-tasking skills; the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-centric environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as an ability to work effectively in a team
  • A high level of diplomacy, emotional intelligence and personal integrity
  • An ability to work independently with minimal supervision, exercise judgement and establish priorities and display personal initiative
  • Excellent communication skills (written, presentation and verbal) and the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students, as well as with external stakeholders and senior managers in the public and private sectors;
  • A broad understanding of the higher education environment
  • A high level of proficiency in MS Office applications including live online teaching applications
  • Working knowledge of online learning platforms

The annual remuneration package for 2025, will fall between R513 345 and R603 933.
