Position Title: Lecturer: Physiotherapy

DIVISION OF PHYSIOTHERAPY

The Division of Physiotherapy seeks to appoint a suitably qualified candidate to the position of Lecturer, with a focus on foundational courses involving general rehabilitation, movement and exercise. The successful candidate will be expected to assist in strengthening and developing the Physiotherapy Programme through academic leadership, research, and the education of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The incumbent will also be expected to support the undergraduate research programme while developing their research interests, and to contribute to Divisional and Departmental activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters in Physiotherapy or a related field
- Registered and compliant with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Physiotherapist
- At least three (3) years' work experience in Physiotherapy rehabilitation, movement and exercise in an academic or clinical setting
- At least two (2) years of experience in teaching, tutoring or clinical supervision of undergraduate students in Physiotherapy at a higher education institution
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in Physiotherapy-related areas (CPD)
- Excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Academic teaching on undergraduate courses in the Physiotherapy programme
- Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
- Maintain own research programme to encourage evidence-based practice in both teaching and clinical practice
- Administrative and management duties at Divisional and Departmental levels
- Participate in socially responsive activities aligned with the university’s vision and mission
