Do you enjoy exploring, implementing and supporting new educational technologies?

 

The Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT), located in the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHED), invites applications for this permanent position. You will join a team supporting online teaching and learning at UCT through online learning environments, lecture recording and other e-learning tools offered by CILT.

 

Key competencies for this position include strong general IT skills across a range of hardware and software, technical analysis and troubleshooting skills, process orientation, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • An NQF6-level qualification
  • Three years’ work experience, which must include experience with (a) Linux system administration, (b) SQL databases, (c) coding experience in at least one programming language, and (d) experience with audio-visual and IT hardware.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Operational support of UCT’s lecture recording system
  • Proof-of-concept evaluation and implementation of educational technologies
  • Systems administration and support
  • Systems integration and process automation
  • Quality improvement of production systems

 

The annual cost of employment for 2025 including benefits is between R 513, 345 and R 603, 933
